Life is colorful – use the choice
We have every opportunity to use the power of colors. Choosing the colors that do us good right now, the colors that give us strength, the colors that make us calm… There are many benefits colors can bring.
And even marketing deliberately uses colors to awaken certain emotions in us.
Johann Wolfgang von Goethe and his color theory
Already Johann Wolfgang von Goethe dealt in his theory of colors with the positive effects of colors. For several years he made many attempts to find out more about the colors and their effect on us. In 1810 he published his work: “Zur Farbenlehre”.
He wrote, “The colors are acts of light, deeds and sufferings. In this sense, we can expect the same conclusions about the light. Although colors and light are in the strong relation to each other, we must think of ourselves as belonging to the nature, for it is she who in particular wants to reveal herself to the senses of the eye. “
What is hidden behind the colors?
Each color has a specific quality and effect on our psyche. Colors awaken emotions and also trigger reactions.
There is also a distinction between warm and cold shades.
Society and the colors
However, our own perception of colors and the effect on us are still influenced by the social imprint and the general public. For centuries, when a particular color has been used for something, it tends to overshadow personal feelings.
A sort of film is played in the subconscious mind, which suggests to us what exactly this color stands for. For example, black for mourning or white for purity. In Buddhism, on the other hand, white is the mourning color.
Let your intuition guide you when it comes to feelings connected with color. Spontaneous feelings are usually the best!
